    1. Apparently it made $7 million in its opening week. How much of that is trump’s money or how many people got paid to go see it, im not sure

    2. How are they judging “success”? If you expect nobody and 2 people show up as a goof it’s technically more “successful” than expected.

    3. lol.

”Trump fills room with scent so beautiful that reporters run out of Oval Office to buy matching aroma as room spray” – Fox News

    4. Even AP is reporting it that way.

“Biggest documentary (excluding concert movies) in the last 12 years.”
      ‘Outperformed expectations’

    5. If it made $7 million as another user commented, you can bet many of those tickets were purchased for “owning the libs” cult members.

    6. Trump is in the files raping and killing people.

      Musk is in the files.

Bill Gates is in the files.

      Republicans are turning on ICE.

Fox News is talking about this distraction.

People have actually seen tumbleweeds blowing through theaters that screen Melania, My Movie.

    8. This movie is like the Titanic.

No, not the movie, the boat.

Sunk on its maiden voyage, might take a few billionaires with it.

    9. The line is that they say that it is the documentary with the best box office start for ten years.

It made $8 million so far and will come in at 3rd place for the weekend. That’s technically not bad is why they’re saying that. The Bible Belt moms came out in droves which is absolute bat shit. The gymnastics they play with her having been in the sex industry is crazy af. She was basically in porn and was a deviant linked to Epstein- but they don’t give a fuck.

They call it a success because it beat a whopping FIVE other documentaries that have been released in the last 10yrs.

5 documentaries that no one has ever heard of and probably were all released on much smaller scales.

    12. Success in that the bribe has been paid in full of course. Absolutely a success. Doing crime in in broad daylight at historic levels and getting away with it is definitely a success.

The documentary so bad that one critic claimed “I’d rather rewatch January 6th.”

How many tickets were bought online but never used? That’s the trick they do with books. Buy a crapload of copies and give them away for free.

I worked for a company that does theatre checks (you count people in the theatre and those numbers are reconciled against tickets sold to ensure the theatre owner isn’t stealing). I’d love to see the comparison of “tickets purchased” to “actual people in the seats”.

    16. “It was such a massively attended screening that the headcount was rivaled only by trump’s first inauguration”

      -Fox News, probably

    17. It was the biggest opening ever. Over 1 trillion tickets sold. The lines were blocks long for people waiting to try to get tickets to get in to see the best movie in the history of mankind. There’s already talk of a sequel.

It’s so good that CBS is going to stream it opposite the Super Bowl.

      Of course /s

Imagine they made a movie about Michelle Obama at the height of the Obama administration. Very few people would go and see it because why would they? We elect our politicians to do their thing so we don’t have to worry about it. The idea that Melania, as a cold dried robotic husk of a human, would draw huge cinema crowds – is frankly insane.

    19. It’s an alternate reality. Somehow a Fox post popped up in my Facebook (yes I still use it for events) proclaiming the movie was a box office smash and the highest grossing documentary ever.

Comments were full of the uninformed, gobbling it up, talking shit on Biden, complimenting the movie, expressing thanks that we’ve been saved by the glorious Trump and beautiful model Melania, and just general boot licking. It’s WILD.

    20. Remember how these folks claim every successful “woke” movie made money because Disney and the like were buying out empty movie theaters? These idiots actually tried that and only made 7 mil.

It’s not a lie. It’s just not the whole truth.

      https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/box-office-melania-opening-weekend-1236490092/

“Following a campaign targeting older conservatives that was topped off by Thursday night’s premiere in Washington D.C. attended by President Donald Trump and packed with his acolytes, the first lady’s documentary Melania is opening to the best numbers in a decade for a documentary with a better-than-expected $8 million or more.”

      Let’s unpack.

Compared to other documentaries, it is doing extremely well. However, with a $75 million price tag, it is the most expensive documentary ever produced. Fahrenheit 9/11 cost $6 million grossed almost $25 million in its opening weekend. And $6 million is expensive for a documentary! They also spent around $35 million on promotion, which is substantially more than a documentary would usually get.

So is it a success? As a documentary, yes. As a $75 million film with a $35 million marketing spend? Fuck no.
